    Description

5-minute walk to Playa Dominicalito in a gated community with 24-hour security, this 2-bedroom oceanfront villa has a lovely private pool, ocean view as well as an expansive view of the rainforest mountain at the backdrop. Dominical downtown is just 4 km away. You can walk to a waterfall with a natural swimming pool in less than 15 minutes, or go hiking straight off the community road. Twice-weekly cleaning is included.

A short stroll from the villa down a gentle slope leads to a local village with a school and a football field, then onto Dominicalito beach just across the road. Playa Dominicalito is a picturesque beach with a wealth of vegetation and shades, pristine waters and a kilometer long of clean brown sand.

Fully furnished with 1500-sq.ft.of space, the villa also has a spacious veranda and balconies surrounded by a profusion of tropical flowering plants. Fully air conditioned and each room also has a fan. High quality linens and towels, fully equipped kitchen, 2 en-suite bathrooms, full sets of outdoor furniture for the poll area and more. The corner lot position provides privacy and easy access.

Dominical has a breathtaking setting as the mountains along the coast descend to meet the Pacific Ocean. Most visitors and even Ticos are impressed by the way the rainforest plunges into the water. Dominical offers an incredible variety of tropical rainforest settings with those world famous ocean views, and many deserted and natural beaches where you can walk for hours.

Game fishing, horse riding tours, trips to the Hacienda Baru Wildlife Refuge can be arranged for you; surfing instructors and surf shops abound in Dominical; whale and dolphin sighting in the Costa Ballena Marine National Park is just 15 km away. We can assist with transport arrangement and grocery shopping.

Most of our clients talk of the wide variety of wildlife and birds in the Hacienda Baru Wildlife Refuge, about seeing or being able to swim with dolphins at the Marina Ballena Marine Park, about the twin 600-foot waterfalls of Diamante Waterfalls, about the dozen of beaches along the coasts where they witness stunning sunsets of unbelievable colors, and about the rolling surfs.

Corcovado National Park, Ballena National Marine Park, Chirripo National Park, Cano Island Reserve, Manual Antonio National Park and the privately managed Hacienda Baru Wildlife Refuge are all easily accessed.

Between Playa Guapil to the north and Playa Ventanas to the south there are about twelve main beaches without counting the smaller beaches and coves, each one different and unique. The beaches all have their own individual draw. While Playa Dominical is best known as a surfers’ beach it has its quiet times for those seeking a morning or evening walk in solitude. This is the main beach of Dominical where the surfers generally hang out and it is a favorite place for the locals.

Surf shops are a plenty and just ask around to get the latest info on the surfing conditions. You can talk a walk from the estuary where you can find unique surf breaks, to the south through the area known as “Tortilla Flats’, a bit of a varied combination of bars, restaurants, kiosks and the like, a fun place to be in the evening.

Strolling to the south at low tide you can walk through the rocks to a quieter area of nice clean sand and rocky outlets and white surf. Plenty of peace even in at peak season.

Just off the main Dominical beach in town you can find bars and basic food. They are basically beach bars for the surfing crowd. A little back from the main beach are a variety of restaurants, from Italian and burgers to local sodas and Thai to Sandwiches and wraps, and of course some more bars.

At Plaza Pacifica the local supermarket has further expanded itself. You can find most items available there. For more variety, there are two larger supermarkets in Uvita, about 9 miles south of Dominical. For meat and seafood, local residents usually shop in San Isidro, where they can go to a farmers market for fresh fruits and vegetables every Thursday and Friday. If you are staying for a while, better value is available in San Isidro. The supermarkets in Dominical and Uvita do however have a wide selection of beverages.

With the road more or less complete it is now only 40 minutes of easy driving to Quepos and a further 5 minutes into Manuel Antonio. The new highway between Dominical and Quepos will be the best road in Costa Rica for a while, so enjoy it while it lasts!

    Getting here.

You can hop on a local 40-minute flight from San Jose to Palmar Sur via either SANSA (from San Jose International Airport) or via Nature Air (San Jose Municipal Airport). Flights normally arrive at Palmar Sur in the morning. At the Palmar Sur Airport, we can have a rental car arranged for your arrival, or have a private car arranged to take you on the 40 minute scenic ride to Dominical.
